Keyboard Navigation in xamDataPresenter
The xamDataPresenter™ control includes built-in keyboard support to allow your end user the option of navigating Records and Fields with their keyboard.
Grid View Keyboard Navigation Support
Arrow Keys
- Up -- Moves the active record up the available Records
- Down -- Moves the active record down the available Records
- Left -- Moves the active cell left. When the first cell is reached in the current record, pressing the Left arrow key will cause the last cell in the previous record to be active.
- Right -- Moves the active cell right. When the last cell is reached in the current record, pressing the Right arrow key will cause the first cell in the next record to be active.
PageUp and PageDown Keys
- PageUp -- Moves the active record and cell to the first cell in the first record shown in the xamDataPresenter.
- PageDown -- Moves the active record and cell to the last cell in the last record shown in the xamDataPresenter.
Tab Key
Use the Tab key to navigate between cells. When the last cell in the current record is reached, pressing Tab again will cause the first cell in the next record to be active.
Shift Key
The Shift key allows you to select multiple Records or Cells depending upon the selection type defined. For more information on SelectionType, see Changing Field, Record, or Cell Selection Behavior. If a cell is selected, holding the Shift key will allow you to select multiple cells. If a Record is selected, holding the Shift key will allow multiple Records to be selected.
Enter Key
The Enter key will take the current cell out of edit mode.
Carousel View Keyboard Navigation Support
Arrow Keys
- Up -- Moves the active cell up the available Cells in the current Record. Once the first cell in the Record is reached, it moves to the last cell in the previous Record.
- Down -- Moves the active cell down the available Cells in the current Record. Once the last cell in the Record is reached, it moves to the first cell in the next Record.
- Left -- Moves to the next Record on the path. The records will move around the path if more records are available, but aren't currently visible.
- Right -- Moves to the previous record on the path. The Records will move around the path if more records are available, but aren't currently visible.
PageUp and PageDown Keys
- PageUp -- The last available Record on the path becomes visible.
- PageDown -- The first available record on the path becomes visible.
Shift Key
Depending upon the selection type defined, you can select multiple Cells with the Shift key. For more information on the SelectionType property see Changing Field, Record, or Cell Selection Behavior.
